The expansion of digital media environments has accelerated the production and consumption of images, transforming the ways we perceive and experience the world. Repetitive and fragmented visual experiences influence the formation of perception and memory, rendering the body increasingly vulnerable to external environments. Within a contemporary condition where immaterial information and images continuously circulate, the body is no longer a fixed entity but one that is constantly shaped and transformed through its interactions with external forces.

 

My work focuses on these changing conditions of bodily experience and explores bodily vulnerability through the materiality and tactile qualities of ceramics. Emerging from unstable bodily movements and states of shifting balance, my sculptural forms aim not to represent the body itself, but to reveal conditions of vulnerability. Through the physical properties of clay, glaze, and surface, I visualize traces of instability and sensory experience that arise within an immaterial environment, ultimately seeking to articulate the vulnerable condition of the contemporary body.

 

디지털 매체 환경의 확산은 이미지의 생산과 소비 속도를 가속화하며 우리의 감각 경험 방식을 변화시키고 있다. 반복적이고 단편적인 시각 경험은 지각과 기억의 형성 과정에 영향을 미치며, 신체를 외부 환경에 쉽게 노출되는 취약한 상태로 만든다. 비물질적 정보와 이미지가 끊임없이 순환하는 동시대 환경 속에서 신체는 더 이상 고정된 실체가 아니라 외부와의 관계 속에서 지속적으로 영향을 받고 변화하는 존재가 된다.

 

나의 작업은 이러한 동시대 신체 경험의 변화에 주목하며, 도자 매체의 물질성과 촉각성을 통해 신체의 취약성을 탐구한다. 불안정한 신체 동작과 흔들리는 균형 상태에서 출발한 조형은 신체를 재현하기보다 취약한 상태 자체를 드러내는 데 목적을 둔다. 흙과 유약, 표면의 물질적 특성을 활용하여 비물질적 환경 속에서 발생하는 불안정성과 감각의 흔적을 시각화하고, 이를 통해 동시대 신체가 경험하는 취약한 조건을 조형적으로 드러내고자 한다.
