About
Pleats are structures that respond to movement, fluidly transforming to follow the body's flow. My focus lies not so much on that fluidity itself, but on the rhythmic sensation and directionality created by the flow. Fixing the pleats, re-captured by hand, onto the ceramic surface is a process of making the traces of movement linger. When the flexible pleats meet the rigid ceramic, the flow halts, yet the tension and texture of sensation contained within
become all the more vividly revealed. Through the pleats etched onto the surface of objects, I seek to explore how a single moment of sensation can hold within it both temporality and emotion.
플리츠는 움직임에 반응하며 몸의 흐름을 따라 유동적으로 변형되는 구조다.
나는 그 유동성 자체보다, 흐름이 만들어내는 감각의 리듬과 방향성에 시선을 두고 있다.손으로 다시 잡아낸 주름을 도자 표면에 고정하는 일은 곧 움직임의 흔적을 머무르게 하는 과정이다. 유연한 플리츠가 단단한 도자와 마주할 때 흐름은 멈추지만, 그 안에 담긴 긴장감과 감각의 결은 오히려 더욱 선명하게 드러난다.사물의 표면에 새겨진 주름을 통해 감각의 한 순간이 시간성과 정서를 어떻게 품어낼 수 있는지를 탐구하고자 한다.
