This work explores the technique of casting pleats into ceramics by hardening them into the desired shape while maintaining their fluidity. Conventional pleating techniques utilizing fabric or paper have the form and flexibility of pleats, but are limited in their ability to be permanently fixed and transformed into a solid structure. This work explores the technique of applying the curing process to realize the organic and delicate sculpture of pleats in ceramic materials.

플리츠(pleats)의 특성인 유동성을 유지하면서도 원하는 형태로 경화하여 도자로 캐스팅(casting)하는 기법을 탐구한다. 기존의 직물이나 종이를 활용한 플리츠 기법은 형태적 조형미와 유연성을 갖추었으나, 이를 영구적으로 고정하여 견고한 구조로 변환하는 데에는 한계가 있다. 이에 경화과정을 적용하여 플리츠의 유기적이고 섬세한 조형성을 도자 소재로 구현하는 기법을 고찰한다.
