KIM Hajin

In my work, vulnerability is connected to the conditions that emerge as a body exists in space and comes into relation with its surroundings. From the moment a body occupies space, it is affected by surrounding forces and environmental conditions, changing through these encounters. This applies to both the human body and clay inside the kiln. By allowing forms derived from human postures to pass through the material processes of ceramics, my work asks how a sculptural form can come to exist as a body in its own right.

취약성은 몸이 공간 속에 존재하며 외부와 관계하는 과정에서 나타나는 조건과 연결된다. 몸은 공간에 놓이는 순간부터 주변의 힘과 환경에 영향을 받고 그에 따라 변화한다. 이는 인간의 신체 뿐 아니라 가마 속의 흙에도 해당된다. 인간의 자세에서 출발한 형태가 도자의 물질적 과정을 거치는 과정을 통해, 조형물이 신체를 재현하는 대상을 넘어 그 자체로 하나의 몸으로 존재할 수 있는지를 질문한다.
