The evening sky is never still. Its constant transformation—especially during the blue hour—reveals unexpected colors and fleeting moments that often remind me of the unpredictable effects of glaze. This became the starting point of my work.

Though clouds in a photo appear frozen, the energy of the sky remains. I found a similar quality in the fluid traces left by glaze as it melts and cools—an echo of natural movement suspended in form. Crystallized layers of color shift subtly depending on the light, much like the changing perception of the sky.

By exploring the variegation and color response of glaze, and altering the clay body beneath, I aimed to capture a sense of nature’s transience—holding, for just a moment, something that never truly stays the same.

저녁 하늘은 쉬지 않고 변화하며, 찰나의 순간마다 또 다른 공간을 펼쳐낸다. 화려한 블루아워 속에서 나타나는 다채로운 빛과 예측할 수 없는 구름의 움직임은 유약에서 나타나는 우연적인 효과를 떠올리게 했고, 그것이 이번 작업의 시작이 되었다.

사진 속 구름은 멈춰 있지만, 그 안에는 여전히 움직임의 기운, 하늘의 생동감이 전해지는 것처럼, 유약이 용융되고 냉각되는 과정에서 나타나는 유동적인 표현 역시 자연의 움직임을 닮아 있었다. 결정이 만들어낸 색의 중첩은 빛의 방향과 세기에 따라 다르게 인식되며, 자연에서 경험하는 색의 다층적인 효과와 유사한 인상을 주었다.

이러한 관찰을 바탕으로 유약의 요변성과 그에 따른 발색 효과에 주목했고, 소지의 차이를 통해 유조의 변화를 유도함으로써 하늘의 흐름과 순간을 표현하고자 했다.
