SHIN Eunbin

Plants and animals in nature hide in many ways. They hide to protect themselves from natural enemies or to survive.

 

In her own life, Eunbin Shin has come to think about whether exposing herself and making herself known is an advantage or disadvantage for survival, and she identifies with these creatures and uses them as a metaphor for herself.

 

 

The work begins with a single line, and the slip is absorbed into the thread and repeatedly added to create a form until it becomes a solid object. As a composite material, thread and clay can complement each other. The thread has the properties of a wire rod

 

It is used as an absorbent material and determines the shape of the work, but it burns and disappears, leaving only clay as a semi-permanent form. We hide and cover our unexpressed emotions in many layers, but the layers are not

 

are incomplete, so they do not completely hide emotions. The emotions contained in a single thread are burned, and the clay leaves traces as a result of the emotions.

자연 속 식물과 동물은 여러 방식으로 숨는다. 천적을 피하거나 생존을 위해 숨어 자신을 보호하는 것이다.

 

신은빈은 본인의 삶에서 자신을 드러내어 알리는 것이 생존에 유리한지 불리한지에 대해 생각하게 되었으며 그러한 생물들에 동질감을 느끼며 그들에게 본인을 은유하여 이야기한다.

 

 

작업은 한 줄로 시작하여 면에서 입체가 되기까지 슬립을 실에 흡수시키고 반복하여 덧붙여 형태를 만든다. 복합재료로서 실과 점토는 서로를 보완할 수 있다. 실은 선재의 특성을 갖고

 

흡수성을 가진 재료로 사용되어 작품의 형태를 결정하지만 연소되어 사라지고 점토만이 반영구적인 형태를 이루는 재료가 된다. 드러내지 않은 감정들을 여러 겹에 숨기어 덮지만 겹은

 

완전하지 않기에 감정을 완벽히 숨기지 않고 보여준다. 한 줄 실에 담긴 감정은 태워지고 감정의 결과로써 점토는 흔적을 남긴다.
